(Altamonte Springs, FL), September 20, 2022 – éclat Law’s Foundation for Community Action and the University of Central Florida (UCF) School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) have partnered to establish the éclat Art Prize, in the amount of $5,000, which will be awarded to a SVAD Studio Art graduate student in the Spring 2023 semester. The law firm hosted an Art Lovers Party last month as part of its ART@éclat event series; all proceeds went to support this scholarship.
Laura Cosgrove, head of éclat Law’s arts and entertainment practice, explains: “éclat Law is proud to be working with the UCF School of Visual Arts and Design to provide financial support for a graduate student in the Studio Art Program. Our éclat team and Foundation for Community Action is inspired to support emerging Florida artists while empowering the success of our community through these types of partnerships. We were thrilled to sell ten pieces of art –the most we’ve ever sold at one event – to raise over $1,000 towards this SVAD Art Prize due to our generous attendees.”
The éclat Art Prize recipient will be selected based on past achievements and in anticipation of future successes. The honoree will be recognized during the Spring Master in Fine Arts (MFA) UCF Gallery exhibition on February 16, 2023, and have the opportunity to exhibit their work in the ART@éclat Gallery located in éclat Law’s Altamonte Springs office. The prize may be used towards tuition expenses, art supplies and materials, housing, and other needs.
Jason Burrell, Assistant Director, UCF School of Visual Arts and Design, adds: “We are grateful for éclat Law’s support and for their recognition of how the arts enrich lives in Central Florida. Our students and alumni exhibit, teach, work, and volunteer to the great benefit of our community and economy. What éclat is doing – forging dynamic relationships, partnering with artists for networking or interior design, and funding a significant and generous scholarship – makes Orlando stronger.”
