Melinda works regularly with in-house counsel, corporate management, and outside counsel to coordinate hundreds of on-going cases across the country involving exposures to toxic substances. She builds a team to develop an integrated discovery and trial strategy. This integrated approach has proven effective in striking the right balance between settling cases and trying them when necessary.
Melinda has extensive experience defending companies against products claims by establishing protocols for evaluating the claims. She is skilled in leading internal investigations to understand the product at issue and to identify potential witnesses and records. She also can tap into a network of expert witnesses and consultants to prepare the claims for resolution.
Melinda assists a variety of companies in investigating and responding to claims alleging personal injury from toxic exposures or other accidents while on the owner’s property. She is adept at counseling to avoid or reduce litigation risk. Additionally, she has an established track record of fully developing all available legal defenses as well as exploring various indemnity sources.
Melinda is an experienced civil trial lawyer known for handling complex and high dollar lawsuits throughout the State of Georgia and throughout the nation, and specifically in the following areas:
