Laura is an arts and entertainment “of counsel” attorney at éclat Law, in addition to providing general business counseling to investors, business owners and small businesses. As head of the firm’s arts and entertainment practice, Laura provides counsel to artists, writers, publishers, art collectors, nonprofits, companies, and other creatives at every stage of their business and careers, especially regarding copyright protection, display and marketing of artistic creations, image protection, insurance for artistic works, publishing, and more. Laura is an active member in the local and national art community and is an integral part of the ART@éclat Gallery in our Altamonte Springs office.
The types of clients Laura typically represents include visual artists and sculptors, gallery owners, art collectors, public and private museums, emerging artists, graphic designers, corporate collections, and privately held companies and family enterprises.
Laura began her legal career as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She then joined Eidson Insurance, now a Marsh & McClennan Agency, to become president to the insurance agency and handle in-house legal matters. Since returning to private practice in 2018, she has focused on her arts and entertainment practice and provides the following services to her clients:
