Corrina Leidy was Born in Niskayuna New York now residing in the artist community of Sorrento, Florida. – She studied oil painting at the Kansas City Art institute where she developed her style using cats as her main subject matter.
Playing with space and color she now creates whimsical abstracts and nature paintings in mixed media. Her techniques and use of materials are unique. Each painting begins as an abstract where she uses acrylics, metallic, and alcohol inks. From there she studies the abstract painting and waits for inspiration as to what animal, figure or scene to “carve” out. She then paints the negative spaces as the painting revels itself. Sometimes the abstract painting just wants to remain untouched.
